I'm obviously not Wulf, but I do know the cookbook. It's the 
Times-Picayune Creole Cookbook. Not sure what the publication year is, 
but it's an edition of a turn-of-the-century book that's a collection of 
recipes from the aforementioned newspaper, with editorial comments from 
the original publication (1901? I think?), and funky measurements like 
gills and glasses.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmm.
