Hello all.

The SCA has recently learned via a national press release by NCN
campground, that it has changed the public nature of its venue. This
revised public image and purpose runs contrary to the nature of Warriors
and Warlords, the Kingdom of Northshield, and the SCA. Therefore we are
discontinuing SCA presence at the NCN site and Warriors and Warlords will
not be held there. The site owner has not yet been notified, as there are
legal and property issues to address before doing so. We are in the
process of attempting to retrieve all of our event property from the site
so we ask that absolutely no communication occur between members of the
SCA and NCN Campground staff or those who might relay information to them.

We are actively searching for an alternate site and will make an
announcement as soon as we have more information available.

At this time, we fully expect that WW XIV will occur, just at a new
location.

We apologize for any uncertainty or difficulty caused by this
announcement. We realize that many of you will have questions and
concerns; however, we ask that you please be patient. We are currently
focusing all our energies toward finding our new site and therefore have
limited time to reply to individual emails and calls. We greatly
appreciate your cooperation and will send additional updates as soon as we
have more specific information.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

There are no specifics as to why the campground no longer suits the SCA in
general. According to the website, the owners have made significant
improvements, and are now calling the property a "campground and
entertainment complex".

Nordskogen and Jara are still listed as the only hosts. The event website
(warriorsandwarlords.org) has no additional information.

I'll do my best to keep an eye out for info on the new location.
Understandably, this could cause changes to our plans, depending on where
the new site is.

The following plans, ironed out at the business meeting on Saturday, should
therefore now be considered tentative.

It looks like most of the shire's households (with the exception of
Wolvesbane) will be traveling on Thursday, July 5. Wolf's Head (Astridr and
Conlin) look like they will be the first to set out, so they will take the
shire banner and stake out camping space. Astridr requests that anyone who
plans to put up a tent provide her with a tarp or ground sheet so she can
reserve enough space for everybody. Also, if anyone needs Astridr or Martin
(who seem to have the largest vehicles/trailers) to take up camping
equipment for them, please let them know. Bring any tarps or your equipment
to the shire yard sale (Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1).

It was also decided to have communal meals, with each household cooking
about 2. The following schedule was decided upon:

Thurday, July 5
Lunch: Wolf's Head
Dinner: Lone Stone

Friday, July 6
Breakfast: Bent Stake
Lunch: Lone Stone
Dinner: Bent Stake

Saturday, July 7
Breakfast: Bearfolk
Lunch: Wolvesbane
Dinner: Bearfolk

Sunday, July 8
Breakfast: Wolf's Head

The cooking equipment will consist of at least the campfire, gas stove, oven
and coffee maker. Martin will bring buckets/pans for dishwashing. Please
plan on feeding 20 to 22 people. Don't forget your snacks, extra water and
medications, too!

Shire rummage sale: please bring anything you wish to donate to the sale to
Martin's house in mid June. Whenever possible, have it already tagged with
what you think is a fair price. Remember, anything you donate to the sale
counts as a deduction on your 2007 taxes!

In other news, Tanya volunteered to serve as feastocrat for Reaper's Revel,
with Astridr as autocrat and Edda as hall monitor. Also, we will need a
volunteer (not Grietje) to run the lunch counter at Boar's Head if we decide
to take on that challenge.

Your roving chronicler,
Edda
