Gnomes aren't as nice as the commercials try to portray. Plus I'll bet herding is the easy part; milking is another story all together. There is a reason gnomes are made of concrete (or are they?).  Dark? Mead? Hmmm? All good.

    we are a (relatively) harmless bunch

    a Moot is a small event, usually for the group and guests.  it is not normally posted on calendars outside the Shire.

    We have a gift exchange, food, drink, dessert, and a lot of fun. 

    and, as far as the war cows go, Grietje is the only one who has seen them.  they only talk to her.  Yard gnomes for herding duties?  Don't know if war cows can be herded.

    of course, she doesn't see them until after dark, and after the mead starts flowing.
