It's almost time for the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the event that makes the Valentine season almost tolerable for me. This year 4 new breeds are making their show debuts.

2 of them are of interest. First off, there is the Tibetian Mastiff. He looks like a big, furry Buddha. I want to rub his belly for luck!

And for the Norse among us, there is the Swedish Vallhund. Dating back to the time of the Vikings, the Vallhund is known around Scandinavia as an all-purpose farm dog and cattle herder. It's believed to have been one of the foundation breeds of the corgis, and it shows. Little guy looks like the offspring of an illicit union between a corgi and a Norwegian elk hound.

Woof,
Edda
