                 Cougars were released in an area between Madison and Elkhorn back in the 80s---90s...as Ive heard it 6-8(I think it was 8) cats were released 2 males and the rest females....3 are know to have died or been killed by hunters....

                 Wolves have not been introduced back in this area. Although they take more deer than the cats do..and pose less danger to people.....there has never been a fatal wolf attack reported  , there are more than a few cat attacks reported each year , a large percentage of them from Washington State,most were scared off of the attack with noise and sticks..a very few have been fatal...Maybe the wolves do a better job of it...and dont scare that easy... so there is'nt anybody to  report the attacks....Grrrrrrrrrrrr
